Crosfield named Ipex Print Champion
By Simon Nias Friday, 12 March 2010
John Crosfield, founder of Crosfield Electronics, has been named the seventh Ipex 2010 Champion in Print.
Crosfield and his team pioneered the development of both automatic register control and colour scanning technologies.
The first invention to come out of Crosfield Electronics was the Autotron automatic register control for rotogravure presses.
This was followed by the launch of the first colour scanner, the Scanatron; the first enlarging and reducing drum scanner, the Magnascan 450; and the first digital scanner, the Magnascan 550.
Ipex 2010 event director, Trevor Crawford, said: "The scanning technology developed by Crosfield forms the basis of modern image reproduction."
