On 17th last month, 225 participants took advantage of the knowledge and experts on environment, health and safety by understanding how to incorporate compliance and safety norms into their company strategies, enhance competitive advantage and improve efficiency.
Printers who participated in the Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS)-organised seminar on environment, health and safety: compliance and beyond, came back applauding the efforts of the MMS in addressing the critical challenges on global warming and how they could be solved by corrective actions by various stakeholders.
Apart from detailed technical presentations by eminent speakers addressing various issues on compliance, health and safety, the seminar also marked the signing of the ‘Charter on Responsible Printing’.
Key topics applicable to printing industry like environmental regulations, health and safety issues were national and global environmental concerns and response discussed in length during the course of the programme.
"I thought the seminar was a fantastic opportunity for printers to know more about global environmental concerns which will impact livelihood and economies. As a nation, we are growing and so is our share of total carbon emissions. There’s a need to build awareness and spread the word of adaptation and mitigation for tackling the catastrophe," said Jignesh Shah, president of Vadodara Master Printers Association. "I was particularly impressed with the eco-calendar," he added.
Eco-calendar was inaugurated during the seminar, and according to MMS, it’s a concept that has been introduced for the first time in India with a vision of providing practical solutions to everyday environmental problems.
During the seminar, MMS also felicitated Shri Jayantrao Salgaonkar with a Life Time Achievement Award. Pranav Parikh, CMD of TechNova felicitated Salgaonkar.
