Polytype to offer 'unparalleled' speed and quality with Quantum launch

The digital inkjet machine concept, which was unveiled at Fespa Digital in Hamburg last year, will receive a global release at May's Drupa event.

The Quantum platform can print at resolutions of up to 1,400dpi using its high-definition 10-picolitre printheads and is available in both 2.5m and 3.5m configurations.

According to the manufacturer, the wide-format printer can produce output speeds up to 300sqm per hour in production mode. Output drops to 180sqm per hour in photographic operation, in both flatbed and roll-to-roll configurations.

Polytype Virtu sales and marketing director Sylvia Muhr said the manufacturer has spent the past months driving the machine in a range of environments to become "aware of all of its capabilities".  

She added: "In doing so, we have fine-tuned the Virtu Quantum to deliver an unparalleled combination of speed and quality in its machine category, and visitors to our stand at Drupa 2012 will be amongst the first to witness it match its full potential."

Polytype will be exhibiting at Drupa 2012 in Hall 16 on stand A03.
