Wifac International will continue to distribute the present GPS portfolio including the Imagine UV CTP range
GPS rebrands as Wifac International
By Simon Nias Thursday, 05 January 2012
Wifac Group subsidiary GPS, which is the European distributor for a range of Asian pre-press manufacturers, has rebranded as Wifac International.
The move follows a decision to merge GPS with its Netherlands-based sister company Wifac, which is a distibutor for companies including Agfa, Epson, KBA, HP, Presstek, Roland, Screen and Steinmann.
GPS will continue to operate under the brand name Wifac International, with the same export and sales team, as a business unit of Wifac Netherlands.
The company will continue to offer the same portfolio of products, including Chromanet/Epson proofing, X-treme printing plates, blankets and inks, and the Imagine UV platesetter range.
Wifac chief executive Marcel Otto said: "In view of the international drive and continuous expansion of the export product portfolio the merger is a logical step to combine forces offering a broader product program with extensive service and support.
"The merger and consequently the synergy will provide a strong partnership which will be beneficial to all our customers."
Existing GPS customers and dealers will be able to take advantage of additional support facilities, including the Wifac Competence Centre - a helpdesk for technical advice and consultancy, an FTP server for downloading detailed marketing and product information, and the Wifac webshop.
The group has a team of 30 technical specialists and service engineers who will be able to provide application and technical support to Wifac International customers.
Former GPS staff email addresses will be changed to reflect the rebranding, with the new suffix @wifac-int.com replacing the old @gps-int.com addresses.
