Konica Minolta wins Green Apple Award
By Melanie Defries Tuesday, 29 November 2011
Konica Minolta has been awarded a Green Apple Award in recognition of its environmental project to improve customers' efficiency.
The manufacturer, which has its UK headquarters in Essex, was recognised for its OPS Green Audit Process, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of customers' document production and their operating costs by installing improved efficiency machines and equipment.
After the audit process Konica Minolta calculates the amount of energy, paper and toner used and the amount of carbon dioxide generated by the business to assess its environmental impact.
The company said of its OPS Green Audit Process: "The project is a holistic approach to the customers’ document workflow needs, encompassing every facet of the process, including environmental impact, as part of the company’s customer intimate approach."
Konica Minolta also won the Green Apple Award in 2009 for its efforts with local communities on an educational programme to enhance the environmental awareness of children.
Green Apple awards are awarded in recognition of environmental best practice by non-profit environment group, The Green Organisation.
